Kamaru Usman will defend his welterweight title in a rematch with Leon Edwards this weekend, as the pair headline at UFC 278 in Utah.


UFC 278 is set to get going this weekend from the Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah on Saturday, August 20. There is a five-bout main card highlighted by Kamaru Usman and #2 Leon Edwards welterweight title clash. The event will air across the ESPN network, with the main card broadcast via ESPN+ PPV starting at 10 p.m. ET.

When is it?

UFC 278 takes place at the Vivint Arena in Salk Lake City, Utah on Saturday 20 August.

The early prelims will start at 11pm BST (3pm PT, 5m CT, 6pm ET), with the prelims following at 1am BST on Sunday 21 August (5pm PT, 7pm CT, 8pm ET on Saturday).

The main card then begins at 3am BST on Sunday (7pm PT, 9pm CT, 10pm ET on Saturday).

UFC 278 takes place Saturday with a highly anticipated rematch topping the card, and MMA Junkie Radio’s “Gorgeous” George and “Goze” will host a live streaming watch-along right here, which kicks off at 8 p.m. ET.

In the main event, welterweight champion Kamaru Usman looks to notch his sixth consecutive title defense when he meets Leon Edwards in a rematch from December 2015 won by Usman. The co-headliner features a grudge match between middleweights Paulo Costa and former champ Luke Rockhold.

UFC 278 takes place at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City. The main card streams on ESPN+ pay-per-view following prelims on ABC, ESPN and ESPN+.
